Copyright

Pictures, slides and negatives you've taken or have been given to you can be scanned and preserved into digital formats. Copyright laws prohibit making copies/scans of others work if the pictures were taken after January 1923 unless permission in writing is granted.

As a general rule, please ask the copyright holder of any professional photo (whether embossed or not) for permission to have them digitized. They will usually send you a permission in writing and/or e-mail which you will be required to present to me. Copyright permissions can be found doing an internet search. For your convenience I have included a number of links:

If you are having a hard time finding where to obtain a "release of copyright" I would be happy to assist you. If you give me a copyrighted photo, and it is scanned, you agree not to hold ForeverScanning liable for copyright infringement liabilities, penalties or legal ramifications. You will be required to sign a waver in agreement before scanning begins.
