Preparing to Scan

Steps to Preparing Paper Pictures

1. Gather them into one place. Pull them out of albums*, picture frames, boxes and get them from relatives. Paper pictures can be as large as 12" x 12" and as small as 1" x 1".  *If you prefer to bring me pictures in albums and frames, I am more than happy do that at an additional cost.

2. Dust off
with a soft dry cloth if any dust is present.

3. Organize. Divide your pictures into general themes, specific person, by year, or by events, whichever works well for you. Place them into stacks and label. It will make for easy finding when they are digital. You do not have to organize your photos by any themes and they will be scanned as is.

4. Straighten
. When you have your stacks, arrange them by size within the stacks, with the largest on the bottom, each facing the same direction and orientation. It is not essential, we will take your pictures, scan them in and can fix this later. :)
